Creation of a 1.20M/a solid waste treatment project begins at Liaoning Tongxin Industries

CISDI Thermal and Environmental Engineering Co is to build a rotary hearth furnace-based solid waste treatment plant for Tongxin Industries in China.

The Liaoning Province’s waste-to-energy project will be the largest in the world.

It will treat 1.20 million tonnes of solid waste and will cover 25.52 hectares. It will house operations for raw material, proportioning and blending, ball drying, the rotary hearth furnace, fume treatment and final product systems, plus utilities.

The metallurgical production wastes containing iron will be fed into the rotary hearth furnace and turned into valuable resources.

The protracted problem of environmental pollution, caused by bulk solid waste’s piling storage and inefficient recovery, will be resolved.

Main byproducts will be used as low-carbon feeds for the blast furnace, BOF and EAF. Recycling waste materials will relieve iron ore and scrap supply pressures.

The RHF plant will become a model example of industrial waste recycling in the city of Chaoyang.

Around the world, CISDI now has a total of 18 RHF projects either in operation or under construction.
