A heat recovery steam generator-based power generation plant for an electric arc furnace has gone on-grid at Dugang Group in China’s Sichuan Province.

CISDI Thermal & Environmental Engineering Co built the power generator plant on an energy performance contracting mode.

The plant is now operating with excellent main operating indicators and stable equipment.

CISDI’s AutoARC EAF has been operating at Dugang since 2022. The HRSG power generator helps speed up the green furnace’s production cycle and maximises its energy efficiency. It is set to break records at the plant for electricity generation per tonne of liquid steel.

To ensure smooth on-grid power generation, CISDI’s team formulated holistic and sub-system commissioning solutions and contingency plans, and organised clarification meetings on technology and safety details for all commissioning staff.

The team is now continuing with the plant’s test run and collaborating with its project partners and Dugang Group to enable highly-efficient, safe and stable power generation.
