Ansteel Bayuquan Steel now has its first intelligent, autonomous hot metal ladle transport system operating online.

The system was built by CISAI under CISDI Group.

Liaoning Province’s steel giant is making strides in its drive for digital transformation. The ladle transport system has become a leading example of unmanned driving at the steel plant.

Featuring a deep integration of artificial intelligence with industrial scenarios, the transport system functions with an unmanned locomotive and intelligent scheduling, achieved by high-precision control and intelligent scheduling algorithms and intelligent environmental perception.

Hot metal ladles can be transported from the ironmaking to the steelmaking plant in all weather conditions.

The following performance indicators will soon be achieved:

ü  a 47 per cent increase in transport turnover rates

ü  a reduction in hot metal temperature loss of around 10 degrees Celsius

ü  around 42 per cent less staff required

ü  increased staff safety - a zero accident rate is ensured.

The transport system bolsters the reduction of energy consumption, carbon emissions and production costs at the steel plant.
