A 6-hi single-stand mill produced by CISDI SFRE has successfully produced its first coil at JML, the largest and most modern cold rolling plant in Bangladesh.

The high speed, highly-reliable mill, in situ at a 1,380mm cold rolling line, is designed for thin specification rolling and a large screw-down ratio.

It enables the mill to operate at a rolling speed of over 1,250 metres per minute.

Carbon steel strip can be produced at a thickness of less than 0.12 millimetre. Its screw-down ratio through a rolling schedule achieves 96 per cent and higher.

SFRE is China’s top brand for 6-hi single-stand cold mills. It has been an active player in taking China’s steel expertise global and opening up new opportunities in Belt and Route markets.

The JML order is seen as an outstanding example of Chinese-made metallurgical equipment which will boost the country’s export market.

The mill supplied to JML features the following advanced tech:

an innovative rolling control strategy, which gives remarkable increases in tension control precision at low speed and accelerating sections and improves strip’s gauge control precision

an intelligent control system achieves autonomous stop and reverse without need of manual assistance

intelligent operations improve production efficiency by automatic detection of the strip tail, accurate stop, automatic reversing and automatic pass change and rolling schedule setup.
