CISDI Thermal and Environmental Engineering Co has been contracted to operate a solid waste treatment centre at Zenith Nantong Steel in China’s Jiangsu Province.

The centre is playing a significant role in achieving the plant’s targets for zero solid waste discharge and waste recycling.

It contains a rotary hearth furnace with an annual production capacity of 250,000 tonnes and a homogenising line with a 300,000tpy capacity. CISDI has fulfilled all tasks as an EPC-based service provider, getting the homogenising line operational in December 2021 and the RHF into operation in April 2022.

All iron and zinc-bearing dusts and sludges from a number of production procedures are recycled and converted into resources.

The new contract sees CISDI taking on operation duties at a steel plant for the first time.

Its role at Nantong includes production and maintenance of the RHF, the homogenising line, a 100,000 tpy cold briquetting line and a 400,000 tpy scale screening line.

CISDI’s full portfolio of services for Nantong Steel is playing an important role in Zenith’s green manufacturing goals.
