A CISDI project for a steel producer in Vietnam has hit the finishing line a week ahead of schedule.

Reheating furnace 1 was started up at Dung Quất Steel, part of the Hoa Phat Group, ahead of the contractual date and is now on stream at the plant’s bar rolling line.

The high efficiency, energy saving furnace is operating with reduced LOI and low emissions. CISDI has applied its patented dual-regenerative combustion and evaporative cooling tech and equipment.

The project began last April and despite severe challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the experts from CISDI Thermal Co. continued to work diligently on the furnace’s design, supply, construction and technical services.

A spokesperson for Dung Quất Steel praised the team’s scientific approach to management and its well-organised implementation, which ensured the reheating furnace was brought on stream ahead of schedule.
